African Networking Luncheon Report by UPF of North Carolina
On Wednesday, October 16 from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM , UPF of North Carolina led by Mrs. Sharon Pace (UPF SR2 Regional Director) sponsored an African Networking Luncheon at the Yagg Sii Tenn African Restaurant in Apex, North Carolina.
Guests were
invited to come for an exciting opportunity to network, share ideas and connect
with others involved in any local activities that also are connected to any
African countries! (The cost was $20 for the event and buffet lunch)
There were
almost 30 participants and everyone enjoyed a delicious African Buffet. Pearl
Alonso was the MC and Mrs. Sharon Pace showed a video about UPF in Africa and
she introduced everyone to the UPF international web pages.
Several
songs were performed by Hak Wa Suttles, a young “second generation” Family
Federation Church member with Pastor Bob Huneycutt , of the Triangle Family
Church.
Six
different guests were able to share with everyone about their own personal
efforts to bring peace and the activities they support or created locally to
connect to Africa and African people.
Dr. Achille
Acolatse came to the event from Washington DC and he gave an inspiring
Powerpoint Presentation about Family Federation and Mother Moon’s efforts to
bring God’s love and Peace to African Countries
The owner of
the Yagg Sii Tenn Restaurant (known as Pappa) is from Senegal and serves local
North Carolinians traditional African dishes from many African Nations. He
gladly opened his Restaurant to this inspiring event and he was able to share
about his Muslim faith and his families love for Africa and America.
Everyone seemed to really enjoy and appreciate the opportunity we had to share and meet with each other. We ended the luncheon with a group picture.
